A LITTLE BACKGROUND...

I am the seventh child of eight in a Baptist pastor’s showcase family. I pursued a musical education with the expectation of being a minister of music. But college years saw the crumbling of my faith which led to me dropping out of my bachelor of music program and the starting of my lawn and landscape business. 
A miraculous conversion back to Christ at age 27 awakened my heart to truly worship Christ with my music for the first time. Serving God in four very different churches would be the focus of the next season in my life. Not secondarily, during this time, I was blessed with my amazing wife Terri and our three children. 
Experiences in my church bubble upbringing, young adult agnosticism,  ecumenical wonderings, diverse ministries in a variety of churches gives me an overwhelming sense of obligation to inform, advise and even warn those who are just starting on their spiritual journey. Yes, my perspective is limited and distorted by subjectivity, but it would be false humility to bury it in the sand like the “foolish servant” did with his one talent of gold.
