Dear Lord
Holy Spirit
please show me your hand
in all that is common
as well as the grand
Grant faith that will trust
Your purpose
Your heart
through pains that can blind
or trials that may crush
both my dreams and memories
leaving nothing but dust
Turn my eyes to the cross
right my mind with the thought
that neither death nor life
trauma nor boredom
diminish that love
or Your predestined plan
for me or for any
who by faith stand
and by deeds proving surely
The Spirit now lives
in this corruptible flesh
that will one day be whole
living on in eternity
giving praise to The Lamb
with a heart swelled with love
for the fullness of grace
poured out to erase
more sin and more shame
than can ever be named
